Miss Surfest
In January, Toronto Workers Club was proud to host preliminary heats and a final for the Miss Surfest 2013 competition. The Miss Surfest 2013 is a prestigious competition that is linked in with the ever popular Surfest, one of Australia’s richest surfing festivals held right here in Newcastle. The eventual winner of Miss Surfest goes on to win $20,000 in cash and prizes and has the opportunity to represent Australia at a world level pagent.
The club was pleased to see great support from the local community and especially the local businesses that joined us as sponsors of the event, offering some amazing prizes to the girls participating in the Miss Surfest preliminary heats and final and Toronto Workers Club.
The lovely lady who will represent Toronto Workers Club in the national final held at The Queens Wharf Brewery back in February was Jordan Simmonds, who was the 1st runner up of Miss Surfest 2012.
The club would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their generous donations and support of Miss Surfest 2013 at Toronto Workers Club.

2012 The Gift of Christmas Tree
This year Toronto Workers Club proudly supported John Hunter Children’s Hospital in the form of a gift giving tree.
John Hunter Children’s Hospital is one of only three children’s hospitals in New South Wales and the only such facility in Australia located outside of a capital city. John Hunter Children’s Hospital includes a medical ward, oncology/surgical ward, adolescent and day surgery ward, sleep unit, neonatal intensive care unit, outpatient clinic and school room.
Our gift giving tree has been very successful this year generating interest from local businesses, staff and customers.
We would like to thank everyone for your generous donations and a HUGE thank you to Anytime Fitness Toronto, who promoted and put a tree up in their gym and collected a huge amount of gifts on behalf of our gift giving tree.
We hope these gifts bring joy to the children and their families at Christmas.

Marketing Enigma John Dwyer Seminar
John Dwyer (known as "JD" by most of his clients) is a marketing enigma and he is coming to Toronto in June.
Toronto Workers Club is excited to host "Breakfast with the Seinfield Guy" on Friday 14 June, presenting the BEST opportunity for local businesses to come along and hear the tips and tales from one of Australia's best small business marketers.
When it comes to creating sales for small businesses, his "thinking" is refreshingly unconventional.
Thank goodness!
Because there are way too many so-called marketing experts out there who simply pedal the same old "marketing 101" philosophies which mostly fail miserably.
John preaches "in a sea of sameness in your industry, you need to stand out like a beacon - and the best way to do this is by using wow factor marketing techniques".
John thinks "way outside the square" and brings proven wow factor ideas to the table for small business owners - not the motherhood marketing waffle we all hear from many self-professed advertising experts.
He knows how to help you find your "unique selling proposition" and can show you the most powerful methods of delivering it to the right prospects.
John Dywer was responsible for getting Jerry Seinfield for the Greater Building Society's advertising.
Don't miss this exciting opportunity to meet John and hear his advice to bring the WOW factor to your business
The morning will also include breakfast, tea and coffee.
Friday 14 June
